Welcome to the Malletts Bay Lakers Site!!!

    March 10th, 2009

Welcome to the Malletts Bay Lakers website. We are located in Chittenden County on the shores of Lake Champlain, just north of Burlington, VT. The Lakers have a history steeped in racing in Vermont, and was a leader in the area’s ice drag racing program, in the ‘70’s and early ‘80’s.

Over the past few years, our hardworking volunteers have reconstructed every bridge and rerouted some trails, to ensure rider safety and easier grooming.

Though we are not a large Club, but we have a great enthusiasm, for keeping a topnotch trail system. At present, we groom with a Bombardier BR400 power unit with a Mogul Master 18-9 drag. The Lakers purchased this unit, in 2008, from Brad Wright who has privately contracted the grooming for many years. Brad remains as the Groomer Master.

We continue to be blessed with landowners that have given us permission to cross their property and hope to work with them long into the future. A simple Thank You is never enough.

The Lakers have only 11 miles of trail, but they offer some nice views of  the mountains, access to Lake Champlain and a very important connection into the rest of the VAST trail system.

Our members will strive to provide the trail rider with a pleasant snowmobiling experience and good memories of a ride on the trails of the Malletts Bay Lakers. All we ask in return is that you ride safely and respect our landowners.

    Ride Safe,

    Fred Cota
